I admit my Momusu love isn’t exactly the most stable thing ever. I’ve gone through LOVELOVELOVE times, and OMGGOAWAYGOLDENERAFTW times. This blog is the clear proof of that, which is actually embarrassing… lmao. But all my old posts are embarrassing so it’s just a natural thing.

I think I haven’t mentioned it here yet, but I’ve actually been super supportive to Momusu since the 9th gen auditions, especially since they officially joined. I’ve been loving their singles, and also I love the girls (they really grew on me!), so my interest in Momusu revived.

Maji Desu ka Ska! was fun and addictive, Only you was great, and now Momusu is releasing their last single featuring Takahashi Ai: Kono Chikyuu no Heiwa wo Honki de Negatterun da yo! / Kare to Issho ni Omise ga shitai! a.k.a. the double A-side single with unnecessarily long titles.

It’s weird to think it’s Aichan’s last single. I used to be neutral about her. It wasn’t until a couple of months back when I started seeing many good things in her, that didn’t make me a FAAAAN but I still found to be very likable. Seriously, it’s not possible to dislike Aichan, lol. The thing is, her graduation announcement really was a shock to me. I don’t even know why. We’ve been waiting for her to graduate for AGES, and yet when it does happen, I still got shocked.

This new single is supposed to be super duper special due to Aichan’s departure of Morning Musume, so I think everyone wanted to be blown away by this. I listened to the songs recording some time ago and I was like “meh” by them.

BUT THEN.

… then, the official videos got uploaded, so I watched them. I was blown away. I can’t remember the last time a H!P video seemed to be made out of pure love.

And the songs. THE SONGS. Kono Chikyuu is so amazing. The “Ai no chikara, ai no sakebi” lines are pure perfection. The video is GREAT, I lovelovelovelove the space shots, with the purple sky andandandandand <33333 this whole track has a nostalgic feeling to it, doesn’t it? At least to me it has NOSTALGIA written all over it. I bet in a couple of years fans will watch that video and cry nostalgic tears. Also, don’t you feel the girls have a special kind of energy in this video? Dunno, I just love everything about this.

Kare to Issho… is so addicting is not even funny. It has lots of Sayumi, which is rare for Momusu singles, and her lines sound very good! I guess she was made for these kind of songs. The video……… don’t get me started. It’s so crazy and ridiculous. Which is absolutely GREAT. This world has a serious lack of RIDICULOUSLY CUTE things. It’s so hyper, like the director made this all drugged or something. When you finish watching it, you’re like “WHAT THE FUNK DID I JUST WATCH” lmao <33333 Oh and both videos are connected, which is cute <333

All this left me with this feeling of “hey, current Momusu has nothing to be jealous of old Momusu!”. I was one of those people who were like HURR DURR DERP GOLDEN ERA FOREVUH CURRENT MOMUSU SUCKS, but you know? I’m enjoying current Momusu SO. FUCKING. MUCH. Right now! I think it’s just the right time to pay attention to them. And H!P in general, actually. All H!P has been super duper great this 2011. Oh my god, I love this fandom.

Yesterday I had such a family day, oh and I watched the Captain America movie and ate a lot too. So when I came back to my home there was a package waiting for me! AWEEEESOME. Just when I was thinking it was taking a little long to arrive. Hm and it’s so weird that it arrived a Sunday, but oh well.

I bought Berryz’ Sakura Mankai concert and a pic of Risako + Yurina! For my surprise, I got an extra Yurina pic as a gift. Pretty cool <3 Wish I got a Risako one though, but I lovelovelovelovelove Yurina too and the pic is very nice so it’s still amazing.

I originally just wanted the DVD, but when I saw the same seller was selling this… oh god. Buy buy buy. I’ve never seen this pic scanned, and I love it so much I just had to buy it. It looks even better in person!

As I’ve already pointed out, this pic was a gift from the seller. It’s the very first time I buy original H!P pics, so this was a nice surprise. I WANT GIFTS MOR OFTEN! THEY MAKE ME HAPPY.

BTW I remember totally hating those dresses some years ago, now I love them so much, they’re so pink D’: I love pink. That concert itself was pink overload, which is awesome and also Risako’s color was pink there. Pink epicness *rainbow tears of happiness* pink pink pink I could say pink all day. /random

Sakura Mankai is one of my fav Berryz concerts, if not my fav one. I’ve watched it 5 times already, and I think at least 3 out of those 5 times were this year huh;; not my fault that the concert is so good.

That’s the overseas version of the DVD though, it costed about US$37 with free shipping on eBay. The only differences with the Japanese version are of course the region of the DVD (this one is region 3 instead of the Japanese region 2), and the extra box with the setlist written in Chinese, but the original Japanese box is still inside, written in Japanese too.

… and it costed half the Japanese price wow. A hell lot more convenient buying the overseas version, if you have a way of playing region-3 DVDs. Actually, I was just lucky I could play the DVD lololol our Xbox360 had 2 regions, one of them region 3. Super lucky, I didn’t know that D: (I thought it was region-free, that’s why I bought this DVD).

So hope this info will be useful for you in the future, these DVDs are original overseas releases and are half the price, I’m happy I bought it!

OH! This is a month old but I never showed you guys these hats, they’re amazing.

I haven’t talked about Momokuro since February, but in these months they’ve grown on me SO MUCH. Suddenly I started liking most of their songs (I discovered the greatness of Zenryoku Shoujo, Kimi Yuki, Ano Sora e Mukatte, etc… and it was amazing), even the ones that I considered to be “meh”.

I watched their Momoiro Christmas concert around the beginning of June and that sealed my fate. When I finished, I was already a Momokuro wota. With that concert I sang, danced, cried, everything. I was so moved by their performances, and they seemed to be so happy to be performing in front of 1,400 people (which was pretty big for them), that I couldn’t help but to feel happy too. It also reminded me of people who complain because Berryz/ºC-ute/etc “only” filled a place with 3k seats and how ungrateful we Haro-puro wota can be sometimes… *glare*.

Anyways, when I watched that concert, I didn’t know like 60% of the songs, but I really enjoyed it anyways. Last week I believe, I watched the Momoiro Christmas concert again, now knowing at least 90% of the songs by heart, and it was AMAZING. I tell you, AMAZING. I plan to watch it for the 3rd time now that I know all songs, and I bet I’ll enjoy it just as much as the other 2 times, if not more.

Watching this concert also made me realize things like how good Momoiro Punch actually is. I used to not like it lol.

But the most important thing that I realized  was how much I actually love Sasaki Ayaka.

I was watching and then Aarin appeared and I was like KGHB,RIHVEIRGVRN AARIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN!!!!!!! ;_; *insert fangirl rant here* and couldn’t stop looking at her the whole time. I was so shocked lol. She actually was the one that caught my eyes the most back when Mirai e Susume! was their latest single. I found her the cutest, and now I know she’s the youngest and dances sexily… *gulp* Risakorisakorisako

Just some days ago, Momokuro released a full album called Battle and Romance. I listened to it yesterday, and I found it so amazing that I ended up listening to Momokuro 5 hours straight lmao. The new album is so good! I think I even had a genki-overdose around the 4th hour of playing their music. What I found weird from the album though is that they re-recorded Akari‘s lines, but they did keep her solo. lol weird decisions.

My fav non-single-songs from the album must be FRIGGIN’ RECORDED VERSION OF ORANGE NOTE FAK YEAH, CONTRADICTION and Wani to Shampoo. The solos are cool too, I like Akari’s fall into me a lot (I can’t be the only one who finds this song to be kinda short though, right?). Aarin’s Datte Aarin nan da Mo-n☆ must be one of the most self-centered idol songs ever! I loled so much listening to it. In general, it’s a great album, I even wanted to pre-order Limited A, but then I saw the price and was like HOLY CHEESE. Sorry Momokuro, I had to get a B-day present for someone so lol;; … oh Japan and your stupidly high prices.

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 20TH ANNIVERSARY, BITCHES!

You know, I’m such a Sonic fangirl. I’ve been waiting for this day since last year lol. Me and my brodah celebrated this day the best way we could! This hedgehog basically made us gamers, so we that was the least we could do for him!

First, I gave Sonic what I knew he wanted for his B-day.

I found this Chaos Emerald some time ago in an antique store or something. I couldn’t believe it, wtf what was this doing there. The guys at the store didn’t believe me we needed this to save the world, so they still charged me $10 for it. Damn it guys! Anyways, Sonic seemed to be very moved with my present.

I think I even saw some tears. But he won’t admit it.

Second!

We made Sonic’s fav food, of course! Chili dogs ☆ YAY. We invited Tails, to remember the good old times and because I like showing him off in pics hehe.

They just sat there until we were done lol so lazy!

Our plan was to make the most epic chili dogs ever, following the “Chili Dogs a la Sonic” recipe. So we did.

Our secret  weapons. We ended up not using the “salsa de chicle Chipotle”, because the chili was way more hardcore than we expected it to be! But we did use the chili juice thing. Heaven.

While we were making the chili dogs, Cooking Mama also wanted to be part of this. It was pretty cool.

As always, her performance was perfect. There’s no wrong in inviting Cooking Mama. She’s always a honor guest everywhere.

She wrote about it in her diary and everything. Awwww, she’s so sweet. I LOVE COOKING MAMA!

When everything was ready, Sonic wanted to take some pics.

Second chili dog! I couldn’t feel anything at this point, seriously, it was TOO SPICY. WHICH IS AWESOME, YES!

At the end, Sonic was like “aw dude that was sweeeet” and Tails almost died, but no one seemed to care. Sorry Tails.

So I translated with my still rough Japanese… WOW WHAT TSUNKU. AUDITIONS. FOR S/MILEAGE. WHAT. WHAAAAAAT.

I looked for help. Nouciel told me I was right. So I spammed everywhere with these news because nobody else was talking about it o_o SUCH A SHOCK.

I remember Tsunku said the lineup would or would not change, but I didn’t think they’d change the lineup after debuting.

The girls’ reaction to the news:

Yuuka looks so damn sad and confused it breaks my heart. I was kinda happy about these news, until I saw her. Oh damn boy, poor girl.

Sakitty seems to be struggling, like she wants to cry. WADA looks OK o_O (probably she knew, since she’s the leader? dunno), Kanyon seems to be hiding her sadness behind her idol persona, even though she did say “we’re fine as 4″. Aw.

S/mileage have been together for 7 years counting their time as Eggs, it must be hard for them. They’ve released 5 singles, 4 indies, 1 full album. They have great chemistry, the new girl/s will sure have a hard time adapting into the group. This is different to Momusu auditions… Momusu is used to change, but S/mileage to all fans was already a steady group. But I can’t help but to get reminded about Momusu’s 1st gen with all this. I bet they felt something similar when 2nd gen was announced… “why new members? Aren’t we enough? We’ve worked so much to debut, they’ve done nothing!”, etc. Curiously enough, girls can audition for both Momusu 10th gen and S/mileage at the same time, but if they get chosen to both, they must choose a group. Oh.

I don’t know how I feel about this right now, at first I was like OH OK but after seeing Yuuka so sad, I dunno anymore Just when I warmed up to them (it took me a while! lol). Ayways, I will support the new girl/s, and I hope S/mileage fans will support them too. Kanna never got to be 100% accepted in C-ute by most fans, and that was extremely sad. I don’t want to see the same with S/mileage hope everything goes well to them!

Last year, Berryz brought to us their 9th Gekiharo, titled 三億円少女 (San’okuen Shoujo, the 300 million yen girl). From the beginning it looked like something special. I don’t know how to describe it, but the more info was released about it, the more I wanted to watch it… and I didn’t feel the same about their previous Gekiharo: Thank you Very Berry.

The stage play was also special because Berryz switched roles depending on the day. Everyone got to be the main character (if I remember correctly) at least twice, which let each girl shine and play Yoriko differently… but that also meant even more work. Here a diagram of the cast of characters. Complicated, isn’t it?

Everyone’s version got recorded, but only Risako’s version was the one featured in the main DVD. They released an extra DVD later though, with the other 6 versions, so everyone can watch their fav member being main character. Impossible to complain about that!

So, when I was losing all hope for seeing this play subbed at all… surprise! Yesterday was the day. It got uploaded to Hello! Online, subbed by [KIDS]. Today I decided to watch it, and here you have my impressions.

I wasn’t wrong. This stage play is definitely something else. I must admit that this is my first Gekiharo, so I can’t really compare it to previous ones (I tried watching Berryz’ first, but Youtube sucks).

The play starts with Kotoe (Tokunaga Chinami) walking on a dark street, where she finds a girl wearing a helmet named Yoriko (Sugaya Risako), who asks her where Mahoroba Inn is. That happens to be the inn Kotoe is staying at, so she brings the weird looking girl with her to the inn.

Yoriko arrives and asks for Suzuki Ichiro, an old man working at the inn. Ichiro gets very surprised when he sees her: he seems to know her somehow, but when did he met this young girl?

We then get a flashback 42 years in the past which show that Yoriko was actually Ichiro’s fiancée. Yoriko arrived to the inn to meet Ichiro and work as an employee. In general, Yoriko is a very sweet country girl that gets surprised way too easily with technology, while Ichiro (young) is a nervous and weakling guy, very clumsy, who immediately falls in love with her. So… is this girl that Yoriko? Did she leapt trough time without noticing? How could she do that? What has she have to do with the 300 million yen big case?

This Gekiharo constantly plays with past and present. Sometimes you can even see both past and present characters at the same time. They also use this as an interesting way of narrating the story: something important is about to be revealed at the present, but the scene gets interrupted for a (very relevant, mind you) flashback, then present scene again. The play is like a puzzle that starts piecing together by itself. I’d say there’s no useless flashback use there, everything was put so nicely that it never gets annoying… you just want to know what happens next!

First switch between past and present, I liked this so much! That’s Ichiro.

This play is ALL about Yoriko, which would explain why they did this switch characters thing with Berryz. The other 6 girls play as family members, friends, etc., but they never get to be very important in the story. I especially liked how Momo and Miya nailed their characters though. Momo got to be a girl that works at the Inn (which happens to be Ichiro’s niece), while Miyabi is like a yankee girl or something. Yurina seriously got the most filler character ever, the character doesn’t even have a name! (she’s just called “Kasumi’s (Momo) band mate”). I got the impression Chinami isn’t really the best actress of the group. Saki was sweet as always, and Maasa did a good job. The Eggs Miyamoto Karin and Tanabe Nanami were really cute, but I’d say Karin in general was more credible. As for Risako‘s acting, I loved it. I think she really puts emotion to it, obviously not in a professional level, but seriously, she OWNED Yoriko. I can’t imagine Yoriko being played by another Berryz now, lol.

There were some things that stood out to me, a lot. Like the fact I’d actually never seen Risako so close to a guy that way before, which made me so happy! Seeing “Risako” being in love with someone (A GUY!) was very interesting, since the girls are usually just paired with another woman lol.

Another thing that stood out to me:

I couldn’t believe it! Historic criticism in my idol DVD? Wow! And what’s better: criticism for both parties! I was very pleased when this scene came.

The same character also said: “If I had 300 million yen, I’d let it all rain down from the top of Tokyo Tower. Humanity across the world in peace and equality… could that exist for even a second?”. I was like WOW communism in my idol DVD? lol really.

In general, this is a story of love and mystery, with a very nice development and interesting from the start until the very end. It has its funny moments, but in general, it’s all very dramatic. I cried at least 3 or 4 times while watching, and at the end I cried SO HARD. SO. HARD. The ending was super unexpected, which is good because I like that (I’m a fan of Ace Attorney after all lol), but at the same time I felt so damn sad. THE WORLD IS SO CRUEL. I don’t know who wrote this, but damn, I’ll be depressed for weeks. I swear I was crying hard even 10 minutes after finishing watching this uuuuh.

It’s not a musical, since it just has 2 songs, and one of them is MOON POWER (this Gekiharo’s theme song), which was sung by Momo and Yurina, only in short version though. Oh damn, now I’ll never be able to listen to that song without thinking about all this play. I’ll cry forever again.

Resuming, this is a very touching story for everyone to watch! You don’t have to be a Berryz fan to appreciate its beauty. It’s really something made with love, a stage play with a soul that stands out and makes you feel something. Very round: it has some comedy, love, action, drama, etc.. Recommended for everyone who likes sweet, yet dramatic stories, and of course, this is something every single person that calls themselves a Berryz fan should watch!
